Through a private foundation called KidsWin, we have established the Patriot Scholarship Fund for deserving young trapshooters. KidsWin has committed $5000 per year for three years based on participation.

The scholarships will be awarded in a special ceremony at the Georgia State Trap Shoot.  The individual scholarships will be in the amounts of $2500, $1500, and $1000.  In order to qualify for the American Patriot Scholarship, applicants must comply with following requirements:

• Maintain a B average the final two years of high school and graduate as a senior in good standing.

• Be a junior or senior with plans to graduate from high school           with plans to graduate in the May/June or December 2010, or June 2011.

• Be an active member of the ATA and NRA and shoot 300 ATA       registered targets in the one year prior to application.

• Complete an application and sign a statement that the applicant       received no assistance in writing his/her essay.

Essays must be sent to the GA ATA Hall of Fame Scholarship Committee and postmarked no later than March 15, 2010. A group of american patriots have agreed to read and evaluate all submissions and to rank them according to content, spirit, writing style and depth. The individual applications and essays will be assigned a sequence number by which all evaluations will be conducted, insuring complete objectivity and anonymity of the applicants. All members of the evaluation committee have agreed to this blind evaluation.

Once the essays and applications are completed, received and reviewed for adherence to all requirements, a post card will be mailed to each student informing them of the acceptance of their application. Winners will be informed by letter on or before April 15, 2010. Scholarship awards will made at the Georgia State Trap Shoot in May. Winners do not need to be present, but attendance would be appreciated.

KidsWin Foundation and the Georgia ATA Hall of Fame reserve the right to evaluate, select and award the scholarships based on their sole discretion. There is no right of appeal should a student not win.

We are excited and encouraged by the response we’ve received and look forward to further supporting the youth of America.
